Collective Auto-Add Helper Chrome Extension & Shopify App Last updated: March 7, 2026
Overview
Collective Auto-Add ("the Service") consists of a Shopify app and a companion Chrome extension that automates adding new products to Shopify Collective price lists. This policy covers both components.
Data We Collect
The Service collects and processes only the minimum data required to function:
Shopify store domain — Automatically detected to identify your store. Stored in your browser's local storage and in our database.
Product information — Product titles and Shopify product IDs for products created in your store. Used to track sync status.
Short-lived authorization tokens — The Chrome extension captures Shopify Collective session tokens from your browser to authenticate sync requests. These tokens expire within 60 seconds and are stored only in your browser's local storage. They are never persisted on our servers.
Price list / catalog IDs — Automatically detected from your browsing activity on the Shopify admin. Stored in your browser's local storage.
Data We Do Not Collect
No personally identifiable information (name, email, address)
No customer data from your Shopify store
No financial or payment information
No browsing history beyond Shopify Collective API interactions
No analytics or tracking data
How We Use Data
All collected data is used solely to sync new products to your Collective price lists. Specifically:
Product information is used to track which products have been synced.
Authorization tokens are used to authenticate with the Shopify Collective API to add products to your price lists.
Store domain and catalog IDs are used to route sync requests to the correct store and price list.
Data Storage & Security
Chrome extension data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. No extension data is sent to third parties.
Server-side data (product sync status, store configuration) is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Fly.io with encrypted connections.
Authorization tokens are transmitted over HTTPS and are never stored on our servers.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to any third parties. Data is only transmitted between your browser, our server, and the Shopify Collective API as required for the Service to function.
Data Retention & Deletion
Product sync records are retained as long as the app is installed. When you uninstall the Shopify app, all server-side data associated with your store is permanently deleted. Chrome extension data can be cleared by removing the extension.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
